Fight COVID MKE

National COVID-19 Group Risk Comparison Calculator

This tool allows you to compare core COVID outcomes for two different groups. Data is as of December 31, 2021. The group characteristics used in this tool are age group; gender, race/ethnicity, and state.

The summary table provides averages for the two groups for all ages. The charts provide information by age group on:

  • Fraction of the group (population fatality rate) who have died from COVID to date
  • Average loss of life expectancy due to COVID (in weeks)
  • Ratio of life expectancy loss for group 2 to loss for group 1
  • Difference in life expectancy loss between the two groups

A table below the charts provides the numbers for the charts.

Notes: The results above are averages within each age range, across comorbidities, and across poor versus rich areas.

Please see the additional details concerning the risk assessment tool, on the main page for the individual risk tool.

About the Fight COVID MKE Project

This risk assessment tool was created by the Fight COVID MKE research team. MKE are initials for Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. However, the tool provides nationwide answers to COVID risk questions, which vary depending on where you live.

Lead researchers: The researchers who developed the risk assessment tool include, in alphabetical order, Vladimir Atanasov (William & Mary), Bernard Black (Northwestern University), Eric Luo (George Washington University), John Meurer (Medical College of Wisconsin), Paula Natalia Barreto Parra (Northwestern), Jeffrey Whittle (Medical College of Wisconsin), and Ruohao Zhang (Northwestern University).

Our research is supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health.

A detailed discussion of our data sources and methods is available at https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3795802.
